RUNNERS: Race organizers and Race Directors
actually need your help to compute accurate race results.
We know that almost all runners practice good finish line etiquette, but what about the
few, who, through ignorance or indifference, create problems in connection with the speedy
and accurate scoring of the race's results?
If you observe a runner who may be a potential problem, politely let him know about the
following guidelines:
Please attach your bib to the front of your clothing!
Please allow your tear strip to be collected after you cross the finish line!
Please don't pass other runners after you are in the finish chute (after the finish line).
If you didn't register, please don't enter the chute! If, however, you do enter the chute,
please inform the officials so that they can put a dummy tear strip on the spindle!
After a 5 km race, a 5 miler, or, worse yet, a half marathon, it's not always easy to behave
rationally the moment that you finish the race. However, you don't want anybody else to
take your trophy home either. Please help us compute accurate results for your races!
